As I sit, snowed-in, this Christmas Eve Eve, I think of what a different holiday season this has turned out to be. With the economy seeming to go ever downward, and now a snowstorm here in Portland, it has been transformed for many of us. With resources more difficult to come by, priorities change and in some ways become more clear. It is my holiday wish that for many people, a priority this year will become their own health and well being.

There are so many options for health in our community. And not just acupuncture for that back ache that won't go away, or the occasional massage, but a true route to a healthier life. The practitioners listed on wellpdx all offer not only competence in their chosen profession, but an opportunity for a different way of living.

wellpdx has a new mission (well, let's say an additional one, at least): to create a comprehensive listing of practices and practitioners in the Portland area. To this end, we are seeking to create url links to any and all practices and modalities that would consider themselves part of the wellness community.

For the month of September, we are offering wellpdx membership to Portland-area graduates at a 25% discount!

As we grow wellpdx, we are looking to create a space and an environment where practitioners cannot only advertise their talent, thereby making it available to the public, but also find ways, together, to reach out to our community and support true health and wellness on a larger scale than even what we all do individually in our practices.

There will be good company, music, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks. All features of the site will be complete and live at the event and we will have computers available so that you can play with it!
